What we collect

You can use the matcher and see your full results without giving us anything. We only collect personal information when you choose to give it to us.

  • Your answers to the matcher: property type, job type, timing, priorities, and the ZIP code or city you enter. Held in your browser while you use the site.
  • Your contact details: email address, and mobile number if you provide one, when you ask us to send your results or introduce you to a company.
  • Basic usage data: pages viewed, referring site, device type, and approximate location from your IP address, through our analytics provider.

We do not ask for, and do not want, your policy number, claim number, financial account details, or Social Security number. Never send those to us.

How we use it

To produce your match results, to send you those results when you ask, to introduce you to the specific companies you select, to answer you when you contact us, and to understand which parts of the site are useful. Nothing else.

Who we share it with

Only the roofing companies you explicitly choose, and only after you tick the box asking us to introduce you. Those companies are named on the page before you submit. We do not sell your details, we do not share them with lead networks, and we do not pass them to any company you did not select.

We also use service providers who process data on our behalf: email delivery, text delivery, analytics and hosting. They may only use it to provide that service to us.

Text and email consent

We ask separately for permission to email you and to text you, and neither box is ticked by default. Consent to be contacted is never a condition of seeing your match results.

If you consent to texts, message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and you can stop at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. We do not use automated dialling to call you: we do not make phone calls at all.

Roofing companies you ask to be introduced to will contact you directly using their own systems. Their contact practices are their responsibility, and you can ask them to stop at any time.

How long we keep it

  • Matcher answers: in your browser only, cleared when you start over.
  • Contact details with no introduction requested: 12 months, then deleted.
  • Contact details where you opted in to marketing: kept until you opt out, then moved to a permanent suppression list so we do not contact you again by mistake.
  • Introduction records and the consent log: the exact wording you agreed to, the timestamp, and the page version: 4 years, because we may need to show what you agreed to.
  • Analytics: 14 months in aggregate form.

Your choices

Email bestrooferdenver@gmail.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you are a Colorado resident, the Colorado Privacy Act gives you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising and sale of personal data: we do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising in any case. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Cookies

We use the minimum necessary: one to remember your matcher progress, and analytics cookies to count visits. No advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking pixels.

Children

This site is for adults making decisions about property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

What this site is

An independent research and recommendation site for homeowners looking for a roofing company in the Denver metro area. Using it means you accept these terms.

What this site is not

  • We are not a roofing contractor. We do not inspect roofs, perform work, or supply materials.
  • We are not a government agency, licensing board, or certifying body. Nothing here constitutes government approval or a licence check on your behalf.
  • We are not an insurance adjuster or agent and we do not give insurance, legal, or engineering advice.
  • We do not guarantee any company's work, pricing, warranty, timeline, or conduct.

What “best” and “recommended” mean here

The site name is not a claim that one company is the best for everyone. “Best” on this site is always qualified: best for a hail claim, best for a small repair, best for a homeowner who wants a long warranty: and the reasoning is shown next to it.

“Recommended” means a company met our stated criteria for the situation you described. It is our opinion, based on the evidence we cite, on the date shown. It is not a promise about the outcome of your project.

Accuracy

We research carefully, cite sources, and date every fact. Company details change: ratings, personnel, warranties, licences and coverage areas all move. Information may be out of date or wrong despite our efforts. Verify anything that matters directly with the company and with the relevant licensing authority before you sign a contract or pay money.

Your contract is with the roofing company

If you hire a company you found here, that agreement is entirely between you and them. We are not a party to it, we do not receive or hold your payment, and we have no authority over their work, schedule, warranty or dispute resolution. Under Colorado law your residential roofing contract must be in writing, must include specified terms, and gives you a 72-hour right of rescission. Read it before signing.

Companies: corrections and conduct

Companies may submit documentation to bestrooferdenver@gmail.com to correct a factual error. Nothing submitted by a company goes live automatically: we check it against the source (their site, licence record or Google Business Profile) by hand, then fix it, log the correction publicly, and update the verification date. Companies cannot edit or veto our editorial conclusions, and payment cannot change them.

Do not use this site to submit false information about a competitor, to scrape our research, or to represent yourself as endorsed by us. We may remove any company that does.

Content and liability

Our research, writing, scoring framework and page designs belong to us. Sponsor content belongs to the sponsoring company. Company names and logos belong to their owners and appear here for identification.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the site is provided as is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it or from any work performed by a company you find here.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. If we change them materially we will update the date at the top and note what changed.

How we make money

Three ways, all flat-rate. None of them affects match results.

  • Sponsor pages. A small number of clearly labelled sponsor pages, written by the sponsoring company. They sit outside the editorial research and are marked as paid on every appearance.
  • Introduction delivery. Companies pay a flat monthly fee to receive the introductions homeowners ask us to send them. Paying does not put a company into anyone's results: it only means we can pass along an introduction the homeowner already chose to make.
  • Enhanced profiles. A flat fee for photos, video and expanded detail on a company's profile page. Presentation only.

Prices are flat and identical for every company in a tier. There is no auction and no bidding, so no company can outspend another into a better position.

The firewall

Payment can affect visibility: a sponsor page, a labelled block, a richer profile. Payment can never affect score, ranking, or match eligibility. Every company we research is scored the same way and can be matched to homeowners whether it pays us or not.

If a homeowner's best matches include no paying company, we show those companies anyway, with their own contact details, and we earn nothing from it.

Where you will see disclosure

On every sponsor page, on every labelled sponsor block, in the match results next to any company we have a paid relationship with, and on that company's profile page. If we ever hold an ownership interest in a roofing company, or one holds an interest in this site, it will be stated here in the first paragraph.

Editorial independence

  • One named editor has final say on every score and conclusion. Sponsors cannot escalate past them.
  • Scores carry version history and a reason for every change.
  • Corrections are logged publicly.
  • We publish named limitations for every company, including sponsors.
  • We will publish a non-paying company as the best match for a category when the evidence supports it. This has to be true or the site is worthless.

What we do not accept

Payment for a higher score. Payment to remove a competitor. Payment to remove a documented limitation. Undisclosed affiliate arrangements. Reviews written or incentivised by anyone connected to this site.

Four tiers of evidence

Every fact on this site is labelled by where it came from, and the label governs how we are allowed to use it.

  • Tier A: official record. Colorado Secretary of State filings, municipal licence records, manufacturer certification directories, BBB profiles, court records. Only Tier A facts are called verified, and only fact by fact: never a whole company.
  • Tier B: company statement. What a company says about itself. Always attributed to them. Never presented as verified.
  • Tier C: review pattern. Themes counted across a company's most recent reviews, reported as a rate with the sample size and the date captured. Never a guarantee of anything.
  • Tier D: our judgment. Labelled as ours, with the reasoning shown, so you can disagree.

Words we are careful with

  • Verified: Tier A only, with the source and date shown.
  • Licensed: always with the city, the licence number and the date we checked. Colorado has no statewide roofing licence, so an unqualified “licensed” would be misleading and we do not use it.
  • Certified: confirmed in the manufacturer's own directory, with the level named.
  • Vetted: we avoid this word entirely. It implies a standard of diligence no website performs.
  • Best: never on its own. Always best for a specific situation, with the evidence attached.

How matching works

  1. Eligibility. Factual, disqualifying filters: does the company serve your area, does it do this kind of job, does it handle commercial if you need it. Filters use Tier A evidence only.
  2. Fit. Your stated priorities select a published set of weights, applied to each company's attribute scores.
  3. Presentation. Where top matches are close, we show them as equals rather than inventing a ranking the evidence does not support.

Three rules that keep this honest

  • Recent reviews count more. Inside 12 months at full weight, 12 to 24 months at half, older at a quarter. A company that has slipped can fall.
  • Missing evidence scores zero and is shown as Not verified. It never rounds up in a company's favour.
  • Payment affects visibility, never score. See the disclosure policy.

How often we re-check

Reputation data every 30 days, services and capability every 90, identity and licensing every 180. Anything past its window is shown with its last-verified date and drops out of the eligibility filters until it is refreshed.

The rules we hold ourselves to

  • You see your full match results before we ask for anything.
  • Nothing is pre-ticked, ever.
  • Email consent and text consent are asked separately.
  • The companies who will receive your details are named on screen before you submit.
  • Consent is never bundled into a “continue” button.
  • We do not call, and we do not sell your details to anyone.

Consent language we use

These are the exact checkbox texts on the site. Each is separate and unticked by default.

Results by email

Email me my match results and the questions to ask each company. I can unsubscribe at any time.

Results by text

Text me my match results at the number above. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.

Introduction to companies

Introduce me to the companies I have selected, listed by name above. I understand they will contact me directly using the details I have given, and that I can ask them to stop at any time. I understand this site is not the contractor and is not a party to any agreement I make with them.

Marketing: optional

Keep me posted on Denver roofing deals, seasonal offers and referral credits by email and text. I understand this is marketing, that it is not required to get my results or an introduction, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that I can stop at any time by replying STOP or using the unsubscribe link.

Marketing consent is always a separate box from the two above it. We will never treat “send me my results” as permission to market to you, and declining marketing changes nothing about the results or introductions you receive.

What we log

For every consent: the exact wording shown, the timestamp, the IP address, the page version, and which companies were named. Kept for 4 years so we can always show what you actually agreed to.

Stopping

Reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email bestrooferdenver@gmail.com. We honour a suppression list permanently and we do not re-add anyone who has opted out.
