This site makes money from roofing companies. A share of that money has one job: putting a roof over a household that cannot pay for one. This page covers the full mechanics: where the money comes from, who installs the roof, and how we will document it.
We will update this figure as it grows, and publish every roof funded here: who it was for, what it cost, and which company installed it. If we ever cannot show you that, assume it did not happen.
Ten percent of every dollar a roofing company pays this site goes into the fund: every fee we charge, including sponsor placements. It is not a separate ask. It is built into the price of being listed here, for every company that pays us anything.
Companies that never pay us are still researched and still shown to homeowners. The fund only draws from money the site actually earns.
Beyond the automatic 10% cut, roofing companies can ask to join the installer rotation. Companies in the rotation take turns doing the actual install: one household, one company, one roof at a time.
When a household is approved, we prioritise whichever company in the rotation is closest to them, or already has a connection to them: a neighbour, a referral, a friend or family member. Every company in the rotation waits its turn; nobody buys a better spot in line.
This is the part of the site we did not have to build, and the part we are proudest of. Roofing companies are generous with more than money: the crews, the materials, and the real cost of a Saturday morning it takes to actually do the work all come from them. A roof this size is never free to make; it is paid for, just not by the household living under it.
A household on the Front Range with a real roofing need and no way to pay for it. Anyone can nominate one: a neighbour, a family member, a church, a school, or a roofing company itself.
We follow up with every nomination directly and never contact a family without asking first.
